Wedding of movie actress Danh Monika was held enjoyably and auspiciously on February 24, 2010 last month. She got married to overseas man who lives in Australia. There were more 700 wedding guests being inviting to join in celebrating her wedding.

Her husband is not so young, he is 37 years old but some people do not believe his age. They thought that he is like father and daughter. This year, Monika’s age reaches 24. Even though, Monika’s mother claimed that her daughter’s age is suit to bride’s. How do you think?

South Korean boy band Shinee performed a concert at Olympic Stadium in Phnom Penh on Tuesday, wrapping up a six-day visit that included a donation of US$10,000 to the Cambodia Children’s Fund.

The band – formed in 2008 and consisting of members Lee Jinki, Kim Jonghyun, Kim Kibum, Choi Minho and Lee Taemin – has become popular among Cambodian teens through its music videos, particularly for the song “Ring Ding Dong”.

Shinee’s visit to the country was arranged by the Cambodia Television Network (CTN) and its sister network MYTV.

At a press conference on Monday band members said they were touring Asia and had very much wanted to perform in Cambodia.
“We also know that Cambodian people support Shinee,” the band said in statement.

Following the press conference, the group visited the Cambodian Children’s Fund (CCF), where they were greeted by about 100 orphaned children who live there. The children staged a performance for the visitors, after which the band donated $10,000 to the fund.

CCF is raising 135 Cambodian children, 7 to 18 years of age, most of whom are former scrap scavengers from the Stung Meanchey dump site. The fund provides English-language classes, jobs in restaurants, IT classes and other vocational training.

“I think we will use [Shinee’s] donation for our culture, music and dance. I love music and I like culture,” said CCF director Scott Neeson.

Meanwhile, Monday’s press conference was also a rallying point for Shinee fans, many of whom waited outside the conference room sporting blonde, metrosexual hairstyles and Korean-style clothing.

One fan, 19-year-old National University of Management student Leng Dalin, said she was there to see the band members but had not been allowed into the press conference.

“I’ve been a fan since first seeing them on MYTV last year. I like their clothes and the way they dance,” she said.

Leng Dalin said she had already bought a $5 ticket to see Shinee’s Tuesday concert, money she would not spend on performances by Cambodian singers whom she said she had already seen “too many times”.

According to the Cambodia Television Network, more than 4,000 tickets were sold for the Shinee concert, most of them to fans under 20 years old.

Actor singer Rain will be releasing a special album coming April. This is revealed by JTunes Entertainment on 19th February.

According to JTunes representative, Rain wll be releasing a minialbum with 4~5 songs coming April, and after the release of this special album he will released a full length album in October.

This will be his new single album released 1 year and 6 months after his 5th album ‘Rainisim’ released in May 2008. And for last year, Rain was caught up with the filming and promotions of his Hollywood movie ‘Ninja Assassin’ and did not release any new album.

The rep added, “Currently the recording for some of the songs are completed. We have been receiving better songs from the composers. Of the songs to be included, there will be ballad songs. But as for what genre the title song will be, it is still unconfirmed as of now.”

It was known that Rain released his 1st album in spring and for this upcoming album to be released in April, Rain is working it with the feelings as when he first debuted.

Rain’s Asian concert tour ended in January, and he has been doing encore performances overseas. He is also studying up on the scenario for his drama appearance for the first half of this year.

Famous, shortest Khmer comedian, called Mr. KREN

We always see the shortest comedian performing at CNT channel over the weekend with Mr.Koy’s troop. His real name is Tes Sophon, aka KREN, getting married to a beautiful girl on May 28, 2009 in Preah Sihanouk province.

A few months after getting married, his wife got pregnant with a son. In addition, he and his fellow performers always said he really will be father of a son in 2010. More of audiences always thought that he probably had no wife as other usual men. But it was not like what the audiences thoughts.

After he was trained by famous comedian, Mr.Koy, his name and reputation are recognized and popular among the world of art. Mr. KREN was born in Battambang province.

Vibol Kanh was former movie actress

Former Karaoke actress, Vibol Kanh, 31, quitted her performing career after getting married more than one year. She entered performing arts since 2005. Many domestic and overseas productions she worked for were SM, Reymeas, Bopha and Fly Light productions. In addition, she also played a movie actress.

For five years, she gained career as performer which is what she liked since she was childhood. In 2009, she got married and then she stopped performing until now.

Ms.Vibol Kanha was born in Siem Reap, she has 3 siblings. She is the oldest daughter in the family. She also plans to have baby within 2 years because she now is busy with her business.

She also mentioned that she will be able to return to be movie actress again if other productions need her to perform. Despite she plays role as mother.

Chanda Ravy restarts his singer career

Chanda Ravy was former member of Red Ant Band

Four years ago, Chanda Ravy who was one of members of Red Ant Band was absent from the audiences since 2006 when her band was broken in 2005 after she was shot by unknown men. Recently, she appeared again at weekend concert at TV5 channel.

This year, Ravy’s age reaches 27 years old. She got married with a son but she got divorced with her husband. Her son has been feeding by her ex-husband’s family. Since 2001, she started singer career and she always sang at restaurants, and wedding ceremony. And later she became a member of Red Ant Band.

After she was attacked by unidentified men, she halted her career. She restarts her career at the beginning of this year when she was invited to sing at weekend concert. Presently, she is singing at Beer Garden in Phnom Penh.

She is likely to dislike men after she met bitter life with her ex-husband. Presently, her son stays away from her too. So that her life is so lonely.

Khmer singer: Vann Hanna

Restaurant singer Vann Hanna, aged 19, has high ambition to become popular singer in the singing career. And she also wants to be popular singer like other singers. Therefore, she tried to improve her voice and hopefully she will achieve her ambition in the future.

In 2004 she quitted her school at grade 9 and then helped her mother sell fruits at the market because of her poor family. Later she tried to learn how to sing by herself. In 2008, she started singing at beer garden in Phnom Penh.

Besides singing at restaurant, she also is invited to sing at concerts of local television. And she performs as karaoke actress and also record CDs for other productions.

Nowadays, she is living with her mother, her father passed away. She has 6 siblings (3 sisters and 3 brothers). She is the youngest daughter over the family.

She hopes that she will become famous singer in the near future.

Due to the uncertain film industry, there are some movie and karaoke performers leaving this industry and some have still continued their career until now. Especially, Som Socheata who is a movie actress has started her career as performer since 2005. Until now, she is recognized and is popular amongst the art world.

Besides of performing movie, she also records Karaoke songs for many productions, including in and out of the country.

In 2004, she had been trained at Art Club and then she started to gain performing arts because her aunt helped her. She has 5 sisters. She is the oldest daughter over the family.

She also was rumored to steal singer’s boyfriend TATA and had relationship with Russian tycoon’s son. But she denied strongly these allegations. She also said that she now has no relationship with other men.

Movie actor Roeum Ramo wants to be singer

Movie actor: Reoeum Rada

Movie and Karaoke actor, Roeum Rado, aged 29, from Battabang province, wants to become singer. He has started his career as performer since 2001. He gained success in art life. Besides performing movie, he also is invited to sing as honor singer at local television channels over the weekend.

Rada completed secondary school at grade 11 and left his province for Phnom Penh in order to take performing career such as movie and karaoke actor. He has six siblings – 4 sisters, he is fourth son over the family.

In addition, he has also invited to perform overseas such as USA, Australia, France, Canada and German.

He is serving as Military Police.
